Questions, welcomed

A little more clarity before you begin.

You are welcome to bring questions to a discovery call, too. There is no expectation that you arrive knowing whether this work is right for you.

01What is Hakomi?

Hakomi is a mindful, body-centered approach that explores present-moment experience. It pays attention to sensation, breath, posture, movement, emotion, and the beliefs that arise, helping unconscious patterns become more visible without forcing the process.

02Do I need experience with mindfulness or somatic work?

Not at all. There is no special way you need to prepare or perform. Elana will help you orient to the process, and you can slow down, pause, or ask questions at any time.

03Is this psychotherapy?

No. Elana is not currently a licensed therapist or mental-health provider. Tender of the Soul offers non-licensed, body-centered and educational support. It is not a substitute for medical care, psychiatric care, crisis support, or services from a licensed mental-health professional.

04Can we meet online or in person?

Both are available. In-person sessions take place in a private home office on Kauaʻi. Online sessions can take place from a private, comfortable location where the service can appropriately be offered.

05How long is a session?

Sessions generally last between 60 and 90 minutes. Current availability, exact length, and fee details can be discussed during a discovery call.

06What if I feel overwhelmed during a session?

You remain an active participant throughout. You can slow down, pause, change direction, or stop at any time. Nothing needs to be pushed through, and protective responses are approached with care and respect.
