Hakomi and body-centered work for adults

The future you’re longing for begins within.

When painful experiences quietly organize life beneath the surface, moving forward can feel difficult even when you understand the pattern. There is another way to listen.

Online and in person on Kauaʻi

Welcome, just as you are

What if you didn’t have to push past what hurts?

Through Hakomi and mindful, body-centered therapy, I create a safe permission structure where difficult emotions can finally be felt, met, and transformed.

Here, nothing needs to be performed or perfected. We slow down and listen to the quiet intelligence of your present-moment experience, making room for what has felt too much to hold alone.

Beyond understanding

When insight alone hasn’t changed the pattern.

You may understand your patterns and still feel caught inside them.

You may have talked about your history, named the pattern, and worked hard to change it. Yet something inside may continue to respond as though the past is still present.

Somatic work invites the body into the conversation. By gently noticing sensation, breath, posture, emotion, and subtle shifts, the beliefs organizing your experience may begin to reveal themselves.

How Hakomi works

A different way of listening

Your body has been speaking all along.

Hakomi is a mindful, body-centered approach. It helps us slow down enough to notice what words alone may not reach, following your own unfolding process with curiosity and compassion.

01

Mindfulness

Slowing down enough to notice what is happening, here and now.

02

The body

Listening for information held in sensation, breath, posture, and movement.

03

Curiosity

Meeting experience gently, without diagnosing, forcing, or rushing to fix it.

04

Transformation

Making space for old beliefs and patterns to become visible and begin to change.

At your own pace

A permission structure is something we create together.

It is a therapeutic space in which nothing is forced or rushed. Together, we create enough steadiness for experiences that have felt overwhelming, frightening, or inaccessible to emerge gently.

You remain an active participant. You can slow down, pause, or change direction at any moment.

“I hold a permission structure that helps people feel what has been too scary to feel. I meet them there and accompany them where they need to go.”

— Elana, Hakomi practitioner

What may become possible

When your inner architecture shifts, new possibilities become available.

Old patterns may begin to loosen.

Choice can appear where reaction once lived.

Your relationship with yourself may soften.

The future may feel wider than it did before.
